What is behind the PKK?
Experts say the latest brutal act by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) by terrorists who planned a well rounded attack were also trained well and had strong logical support and technical equipment.
Perhaps, they are supported, abetted and raised by some groups. There is a never changing rule of thumb about terrorist organizations: If they survive so long, they are most certainly supported by one or two states.
Someone is trying to drag us into northern Iraq through the PKK.
Who is/are behind the PKK?
***
The first state that comes to mind in Turkey is the USA! The second state we have suspicions about is the Kurdish entity in northern Iraq. This is the fact that the U.S., for some reason, overlooks the PKK’s existence in north Iraq.
It is also a fact that the Kurdish formation in the north exploits the PKK in order to be taken seriously by Turkey and gives messages to Turkey along the lines of “Look, if you have direct contacts with us and quit threatening, I will stop the PKK terror!”
But!
Would the animosity between the American troops and the Turkish Armed Forces organizing a cross-border operation in the area, neutralizing the region partially and having encounters with the Kurdish peshmerge serve to the U.S. and the regional Kurdish administration?
Would the U.S. stand against its strongest and only serious ally in the Middle East by provoking the PKK?
Would the Kurdish formation, knowing that they will become a common target for the Iraqi Shiites, Sunnis and for terror organizations including Al Qaeda after the U.S. forces withdraw from the region, want to lose Turkey completely, though it cannot pull beside?
I think neither the U.S. nor the administration in northern Iraq can be this stupid!
Let’s analyze the issue backwards
If Turkey seeks a long-term entry in northern Iraq, we all know that:i) The U.S. will lose its sole strongest and serious ally in the region and is left alone, except for Israel.
ii) Turkey becomes a “persona non grata” in the Middle East and is excluded by the others, let alone being a dominant role model. For instance, the “Neighboring Countries of Iraq” conference scheduled to take place in early November will be nullified.
iii) Who would want all these to happen?
*** 1) We perfectly know that Iran benefits from the unsuccessful U.S. administration in the region. With great admiration I personally follow Iran carrying very smart policies to become the regional imperialist country in the Middle East. Iran’s goal is to get the U.S. sooner or later while trying to escape from the quagmire in the Middle East. Iran manipulates Syria from the East, some administrators in Lebanon via Syria, Hezbollah and several Shiite militia organizations in Iraq, even Sunni Hamas in the region.
2) Russia and China, as the rising stars of the world, are candidate global imperialist countries having an eye on the U.S. position. With whom India, as another rising giant, will side with is not obvious yet. However, total economies of China, Russia and India will leave the economies of the U.S. and the European Union behind around 2025 or 2030. That is for sure. A Western-centered world we are accustomed to would transform into an Eastern-centered world. In fact, the U.S. on one side is eying energy sources in the Middle East and is trying to take energy sources in the north under, Russia and China under control via Afghanistan. ***
I am of the opinion that to look at the PKK equation through this perspective is necessary!
